About Synergy
Independent Energy Assessment.
Synergy IEA was established in 2010.
Synergy was formed in 2010, by Steve Cocks, soon after the advent of EPC’s. Steve has covered buildings from large industrial units, offices, pubs and shops through to hangars and even kennels. Nobody wants an EPC but nearly every marketed building has to have one and it is in fact to everyone’s advantage to make a building as energy efficient as possible because it not only helps to reduce energy costs but it also helps the environment.
Originally EPC’s were really only an advisory document informing owners of the buildings energy efficiency but now they mean a lot more. Any building falling into bands F or G cannot be marketed until the necessary improvements have been made.
However, if it will cost more to improve a building to achieve a band E or higher than will be repaid in energy savings over 7 years then an application can be made to the PRS (Private Rented Sector) exemption register and if accepted the building can be marketed as it is.
